As a young boy growing up on the west coast of Lancashire, our founder, John Drummond, spent countless hours with his grandfather, a local fishmonger who understood the sea, the tides and the hidden channels of the estuaries. Together they pushed nets for brown shrimp, explored the shoreline and learned that the water always had a story to tell.
Those early days created a lifelong fascination—not just with fishing, but with the extraordinary journey of the Atlantic salmon. Born in freshwater, travelling thousands of miles across the North Atlantic, then returning with remarkable precision to the very river where life began, the salmon's migration is one of the world's greatest natural wonders.
That journey inspires everything we do.
